A Slight Tweak To The Norm! | Life and Channel Update #9 | April 2022

Ok so I only just missed out on making this post a month after the last, so it still counts as monthly, right? Anyway, I have a small, teeny weeny tweak to my schedule to announce, so let’s get into it!

Firstly RAILROADS Online! is currently off the table. There is an update coming soon to the game that I am keen to try out in future, but for now I am putting the game on ice. In truth, I had hoped people would be interested in joining and helping build the network across the map but sadly that didn’t happen. Never mind though, because in it’s place comes something exciting!

Beautiful animals in a beautiful view

Planet Zoo has arrived on the channel! Wild Realms, the second gate at Somerset Hills, opened its doors for the first time last week live on stream. Nestled next to Global Ventures, Wild Realms is all about the animals. Focusing on education, conservation and rehabilitation, the park is split into 4 main areas currently with more on the way. These areas are Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. Already planned additions include South America and Australia, so keep an eye out for those arriving in the future. Wild Realms will be streamed weekly on the channel as of last week, taking up the Wednesday slot.

“But Mark, what about Cities Skylines?” I hear you cry, well about that…

All good things take time

The good news is the series is staying on the channel. The not so good news is it comes at the price of being demoted to biweekly. This was a tricky decision to make, but basically each episode takes a while to produce as it requires at least 3 hours of footage to make an episode. To make an episode a week takes a lot of time, and with my work schedule now being what it is, episode quality was dropping. Therefore North Reef City will now exclusively share the Friday slot with the M4J Network Overview, alternating between the 2 of course. This means the 2 series that take the most time to produce will now share a slot, which to be fair is quite fitting in my opinion, plus it frees up Wednesdays for Planet Zoo which I think is best.

So with all that in mind, here’s the new schedule as of April 2022:

Day Time (UTC) Series Game
Monday 18:00 M4J-Hatfield Racing F1 2021
Tuesday 18:00 Stagz To Riches (stream or video) Football Manager 2022
Wednesday 18:00 Wild Realms Planet Zoo
Thursday 18:00 M4J Plays Transport Fever 2 Transport Fever 2
Friday 18:00 M4J Network Overview/North Reef City OpenTTD/Cities Skylines

One final quick note. Stagz to Riches is listed as stream or video as right now I don’t want to commit to one or the other. Depending on time, one week might be a stream with the next a video, or 2 weeks in a row might be streams or videos. If the team have 2 big matches back to back, that would make a great pre-recorded video. A cup final however works better as a stream. As the series is unpredictable, I want to be fluid with the format of the content. All streams will be scheduled 24 hours in advance of the start time to give you all a chance to clear the diary, but otherwise it might be a last minute decision each week!

I really need some wins!

So that’s it for this little update. Thank you very much for reading, I hope to see as many of you in the chat as possible, and until next time I will see you soon!
